Spuncast, Inc., a leading manufacturer of centrifugal castings, is currently seeking Melters on 1st and 3rd shifts in Watertown, Wisconsin.
Summary of
Job Description:
Operate melting units to produce molten metal for pours. Maintain proper documentation of all heats and metal pours.
Essential Functions and
Responsibilities:
1.Perform accurate weigh ups and selection of materials and document all materials used. Document weight of metal, time of pour, recording of material process and lot type.
2.Ensure accuracy in all furnace charges, correcting weights to watching adjustments being made, as needed.
3.Assist in the installation and set-up of dies with the Cast Machine Operator.
4.Take test samples from ladle for chemical and physical analysis for quality checks.
5.Assist Cast Machine Operator with pour.
6.Perform housekeeping of work area and cleaning of pour ladles.
7.Maintain dust removal equipment and other equipment and tools.
8.Ensure proper and legible markings on castings for removal.
Qualifications and
Experience:
Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Experience:
Some experience in a Manufacturing setting
Knowledge:
Knowledge of periodic table is helpful, solid math and communication skills are needed
Ability to use foundry operation manual for department 10Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
