Sanitation Coordinator Watertown Facility Why is this a Great Job? You will act as a role model and educator of the Johnsonville Way; thus, facilitating this as a way of life within Johnsonville.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities Lead a highly motivated 2nd and 3rd shift Sanitation team to achieve greatness and exemplify and advocate the Johnsonville Way every day Drive continuous improvement efforts that will facilitate the creation of safety as a way of life in order to lead us toward our goal of 0 IFR every month Work closely with the Operations Coordinator to develop capital, budget, and strategic plans for the Sanitation area Promote and instill a culture of personal learning and professional development of the Team Leader and Members within the department Assess trends within results in the areas of Safety, Food Safety, Quality, Customer Service Lead efforts to identify and implement metrics of success as it relates to our sanitation practices to ensure that equipment and the facility are ready to go for production every day Initiate and lead innovation and continuous improvement initiatives, with the assistance of the team members, within the for these areas (Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Customer Service) Create and sustain a continuous improvement environment that ensures member engagement, ownership and implementation of programs, ideas, and guidelines Facilitate and drive goal and objective planning with Members in the department In conjunction with the Team Leader, lead the hiring and development processes within the department to ensure a high level of member engagement and job satisfaction Own the process and improvement as it relates to Member performance issues, and Member development Lead sanitary design efforts for the facility on both new and existing equipment, as well as act as an educator of these principles to the rest of Johnsonville Lead programs around the facility including:
master sanitation schedule, pest control program, environmental swab compliance, and pre-operational swab compliance Lead efforts to create and sustain readiness pipelines within your area of responsibility Ensure compliance with USDA standards Lead productivity pipeline identification efforts each year for the Sanitation area Understand, represent and lead all processes at Watertown during off shift hours Education Bachelor's degree required (experience and business knowledge will be considered for internal candidates) Minimum of 4 years' experience in a leadership/coaching role with proven ability in developing Members to greater levels of responsibility Experience / Skills Minimum 2 years of experience in sanitation principles preferred Knowledge of SDS and OSHA chemical usage and storage standards required.
Experience in the food industry is preferred, but not required Demonstrated success and experience in Lean, Six Sigma and other continuous improvement disciplines preferred Demonstrated knowledge and experience in budgeting, capital planning, and productivity pipeline projects Experience in strategic planning processes Demonstrated communication and listening skills Commitment to personal growth as well as the proven ability to develop those around you to higher levels of responsibility Ability to lead by example and involve others in the decision-making process Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and be flexible by adjusting priorities Proven ability to widen the circle of engagement and ownership Proven ability to innovate Demonstrated ability to effectively evaluate and manage risk Demonstrated drive to achieve results Proven ability to motivate others and affect change Proven track record of project management success Learning agility To enhance flexibility within our operation; this position may rotate to other shifts as required.
